Giacometti's Figures
Don't worry
they won't collide,
or embrace.
They'll walk through
each other
as we do,
not knowing what didn't
hit them.
They are thin already,
down to the bone.
While greed
has made us fat
they have drawn
in to the fine
vertebra, the core,
where desire
burns small
like rust.
